The End of the Transfer (Dun dun dun!)
May 19th, 2009
Hello everyone! C’est moi encore (It’s me again), here to tell you the tale of life in Sacramento California!
Before I get started I’d like to point you to the entry below, dated May 11th; it was posted late, so if you haven’t had a chance to read it, then go for it, and come back when you’re done.
Ready? Great! So *this* week has been… well, let’s see… HOT. I don’t know if any of you have been watching the weather here but whoah boy has it ever been stifling. Mostly this past weekend where we saw temperatures of 100 plus degrees! Let me tell you, we’re just glad we have a car with working A/C.
Despite the heat though things have been great. It seems a lot of people here are either doing finals in school, graduating, or both! A lot of people moving too, so we’re helping with that when we can.
Of course the big thing this past week is, as the title suggests, the end of the transfer! Last night we got the call that would let us know if we were staying, or if one of us was leaving. Both of us wanted to stay, really bad, and even our Bishop called the Mission President to have him keep us here in this ward for another transfer. And well…
It worked! Yup, me and my dear trainer Elder Groshong (He’s sitting behind me and just said “Bah, humbug!”, haha) are staying in Hurley Ward for another 6 weeks. And we’re so happy! The members are too.
Here’s a picture!

This morning was nice too since all the missionaries in this region were at the temple for an early morning session. It was my first time in the temple here in Sacramento, and it was great!
Well, that’s all I can think of now. I hope you all stay healthy and happy. Big thanks to Grandma Snyder for the Canadian stuff, it was perfect! Thanks to everyone else for your letters too. Sorry if you haven’t got a response from me yet, sometimes our days are a little crazy and I don’t always get to write the letters that I mean to write, haha. I’m still looking for a typewriter that I could get at the appartment… seriously!
Till next week!
Love,
Elder Macpherson
