Independance Day
July 4th, 2009
If you haven’t read last week’s post “Day of Unity” go check it out now! It was posted a little late.
So it’s the 4th of July here in my new area, and we have the whole day off as a mission. Very fun! This morning we had a pancake breakfast at the chapel. And right now I’m at the Hasegawa’s house doing emails.
So I’ve been in my new area now for about 3 days, and it’s great! Very different from the previous area I was in (Ah good ol’ Hurley Ward!). I’ve met lots of really awesome members here and I’m looking forward to being here for the next few months. The neighborhoods remind me of Utah a LOT. Very nice areas, all the houses look the same, and the streets are confusing and winding… haha. Oh well, I guess I’ll wrap my head around it eventually. There are also a ton of Asian and East Indian people here, more than Hispanic people even!
As I mentioned in the last post, my new companion is Elder Robinson. He’s as “trunky” as I thought… and I think it’s rubbing off a little… haha… okay he’s not bad… it’s just natural. Still… good sense always prevails and we’ve been able to stay in line over the last few days. The work is slow here, but I’m faithful that it’ll pick up. This whole last week of being transferred has just made everything crazy. Not to mention Elder Robinson *had* a car before I came into the area but now because another Elder got hurt we don’t have one… *sigh* and it just had to be the hottest time of the year, didn’t it?
Well, I’m gonna finish up here and enjoy this day off. I hope all of ya, wherever you are have a good day. Thanks for all your letters and support. Big thanks for the letter from my Aunty Cheryl in Redlands, that was awesome to get! I’m gonna write back to you! (And it only takes *one* stamp! haha)
Before I go. Here’s a picture!

Love,
Elder Macpherson
