Blog of Elder Hamish Macpherson

Just another WordPress weblog

Hamish is home!

Thank you everyone for following me on my two-year missionary adventure in Sacramento California. This site will remain online forever; as a reminder of the days I spent in the service of God. A reminder of the sad, happy, wet, dry, sweet, painful and the outright crazy. But most of all, a reminder of the love God has for his children. If you're curious what I'm up to these days, please visit my personal site.

Till we meet again,

Moving on…

September 22nd, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome back for another update in the life of Elder Macpherson.

Well. I guess I should just cut to the chase. I’m getting transferred! Yup, just like that. We got our transfer calls last night and your favorite Californian missionary is moving, come tomorrow morning, to the Brighton Ward, in the Cordova Zone. That’s actually north of me right now, and a little bit closer to my old area, East Sacramento. I’ll be a followup trainer (that is, a 2nd companion) to Elder Zimmerman. As usual, I don’t know much about him yet, but I’ll have more to tell next time.

To be honest, I’m sad to leave. I feel like things are just beginning to pick up in this area. And I’ve made some really AWESOME friends here! (Shout outs to The Marshes; Jake, Cassie, and Cluadia AND the Crosses; Joe and Josh!) — I guess the good thing is that I can say I’ve left it better than I found it. Now… now it’s up to Elder Kilman and Elder Smith (unique name, I know :P)

Well, I don’t have much more to say. I AM excited. I can’t wait to write about my experiences in Cordova. I know I’ll learn and grow a LOT there. It’ll be my first time as Senior Companion too, which should be exciting. Thanks again to all those who emailed me this week. And also thanks to Aunty Cheryl & Uncle Gary, Madison, Sidney, & Thys for the AWESOME package.

I better get going. I got lots of packing to do…

Love,
Elder Macpherson
