The 179th Semiannual General Conference

Wow! I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months since I last wrote about General Conference in April (though I only mention it briefly there) — I’ve only got two more left on my mission, can you believe it? Well, regardless, I thought it was great! I don’t think I’ve ever taken notes so seriously, or paid so much attention since I’ve come on my mission! The words of our latter day Prophet, Apostles, and General Authorities are inspiring… especially for a missionary. They take on a whole new meaning for me, and all the other missionaries. One of my favorites was Elder Holland’s powerful testimony of the Book of Mormon. Can anyone argue with that?!
Speaking of Conferences… we had our Zone Conference too this last week, on Thursday. That was really awesome too. I got to see all the missionaries from my last zone, Sacramento, since they’re part of the “Central” zones. The training was all on Teaching People not Lessons, and it was really enlightening for me, and I’m sure all the other missionaries too. It was a good followup as well to the last Zone Conference, which was all about Finding People to Teach. You never stop learning as a missionary, I tell ya.
We’ve been working hard on finding people again this past week. And thankfully we’ve been met with some good success. We’ve found some new people to teach… some of which we’ve already taught, and others which we’ll be seeing in the week ahead. I’m looking forward to it! I can see the potential in this area turning into results really soon! As long as we continue to work hard!
The weather over the last week has also been really nice. And, dare I say, a little cool at times! I guess fall is finally coming around. Though it still manages to get pretty warm during the day, with that scorching sun n’ all. But I’m sure I’ll be pining for that when the rainy season comes around!
